The Joy-Pi is an experimental case based on the Raspberry Pi and is ideal for beginners in electrical engineering and programming.
The well thought-out case system offers a perfect all-in-one environment and puts an end to many fumbling small parts solutions and cable chaos on the work table.
The Joy-Pi is also very suitable for school projects, since it can be switched off and closed at the end of the hour, so that the project can be continued in the next hour. Another advantage of the case is the great mobility and compactness. This means that you can take it with you everywhere and explore the Universum of the Raspberry Pi with friends without much effort.
The Joy-Pi has a wide range of sensors and modules that can be operated independantly of your own prior knowledge, thanks to the very detailed application examples.
Thanks to the prepared system image, the Joy-Pi is immediately ready to use when you have connected the power supply.
With the 7″ (17.78 cm) touch display integrated in the cover, you can operate the Raspberry Pi and display the evaluations of the integrated sensors directly.
Through the implemented breadboard further, external sensors and modules or self-designed circuits can be connected and used.
Built-in sensors include: A light sensor for measuring brightness, a sound sensor for detecting noises, a motion sensor, an ultrasonic sensor for measuring distances, an inclination sensor, a touch sensor, a temperature and air humidity sensor and an infrared sensor with which you can also receive commands from an infrared remote control (included in the delivery).
The modules include: A GPIO LED display, a 16×2 LCD module, a 8×8 LED matrix, a 7 segment LED display, a buzzer, a relay, a button matrix, independant buttons, an RFID module, a 5V stepper motor, a servo motor, the 7 inch touch display and a camera, which is installed above the display in the cover.
Once you have learned how these sensors and modules work, there are almost unlimited possibilities to expand the sample programs and combine the individual components in your own programs. For example, you can combine the LEDs with the motion sensor and the light sensor to switch on the LEDs as soon as movement is detected in the dark. Or you can influence the pitch of the buzzer with the help of the keys and thus build a kind of small piano. There are no limits to their imagination.
And if you don’t want to experiment with the case, you can also use it as a small laptop and connect a keyboard and mouse to the Raspberry Pi via USB or BT.
For this purpose, a small keyboard is also included in the delivery, which is controlled via BT and has also implemented a mouse control.
